Opening ceremony of the MENA Karting Championship Nations Cup hosted by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) inaugurated the competition with a lively drivers’ parade from 15 countries across different categories. President of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation and Lusail International Circuit, Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai delivered the keynote address to participating teams, representatives of Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and esteemed government officials. The ceremony was also attended by HH Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar.
During the keynote speech, Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai highlighted the importance of events that bring regional talent to the forefront of the world and encourages coming generations to pursue a career in motorsports. He said, “Motorsport[s] will always be special to Qataris and Lusail International Circuit is proud to be its spiritual home. The championship reflects Qatar's motorsports legacy and encourages the pursuit of racing aspirations amongst today’s youth.”
This year, the championship will host 165 drivers from 15 different countries who will participate in the following categories: Micro Max category (8 - 11 years) followed by Mini Max (10 - 13 years), Junior Max (12 - 15 years), Senior Max (14+ years), DD2 (15+ years) and finally, DD2 Masters (31+ years).
The MENA Karting Championship Nations Cup promises an exhilarating spectacle that not only celebrates the thrill of motorsports but also champions the spirit of international collaboration and friendly competition among the participating nations.
